I can think of several instances where FOMO (fear of missing out) is a very real and actual thing. Like the time you wanted to go to Mexico with your high school friends for a graduation celebration, but your parents didn’t trust you (rightfully so), so they got you a parrot instead. Can’t go to Mexico, but here’s a 20-year commitment you can have instead! Or the time when you really wanted to go to that concert with all of your friends. You got in line for the tickets. You waited hours. Then the last ticket was sold to the person in front of you, who you thought was one of your best friends. Guess they didn’t feel the same way.
Yes, FOMO is a real thing, but I’m here to save you from your next possible FOMO experience. JP’s Collision Center is hosting a Car Show on August 26th, and you will want to be there! Trust me on this one. Beautiful cars, food, prizes, and great people coming together for a great cause. You could just sit home on your couch and wonder why your life is so boring or piddle around in the garden, but that would be a waste of an epic day! Grab your kids, wives, husbands, cousins, and relatives twice-removed and get out to 3675 S. 300 W. and join us! Leave the FOMO to someone else this time!
All joking aside, the real reason behind the car show is raising money for a non-profit called Operation Zero- Veteran Suicide Prevention. This is an organization unlike any other non-profit that claims to put their Veterans first. The car show itself is free, we just ask that you make whatever donation to this organization that you feel comfortable with. Why did JP choose this organization to donate to this year? Because the people that stand behind and hold up this particular non-profit have their hearts in the right place. They are all volunteers, they are all veterans themselves, and they believe that you must “be the change you wish to see”. Come join us and help be a part of that change. Let’s get our good Karma on, have fun, and not miss out on a day that people will be talking about for a long time!
Want to be involved? Contact JP at (801)266-7791 if you are interested in sponsoring or donating prizes for the event, or if you’d like to help with the event itself. Thanks again to everyone that has donated thus far!
As most of you are aware, JP’s Car Show is sneaking up on us! August 26th is fast approaching, and we want to hear from you! We are going to do a drawing for prizes at the event and we are ever so grateful to the companies and people that have already answered the call so far for donations as prizes. (Apparently, raffles are considered gambling and are, in fact, illegal in the state of Utah. Who knew? We didn’t, so we changed it to a drawing.) We are still looking for a few more willing parties to donate so that we can make this event an absolute success and hit, so if you, your business, or someone you know might be interested, please reach out to us.
All monetary donations made at the show will go to the Operation Zero- Veteran Suicide Prevention, PCR non-profit organization. 100% of it. Operation Zero has a mission that we at JP’s whole-heartedly support and align with. They assist in the mission to give back to and save the lives of those who have sworn to protect us. Something that most people may not understand about veterans is that minimal resources exist to help them transition back into a civilian life after their service. Many of them struggle. Many of them, myself once included, don’t know how to go from being a trained military service member back to the way they were before. Service changes you, and you cannot simply just turn that off.
We are aware that we have been discussing the Car Show quite a bit lately, but this is because we really want to help effect change and be a part of the solution to a serious problem. Most of you have heard that we lose an estimated 22 veterans to suicide per day. Those numbers are on the rise, and we are not going to sit quietly and watch it happen. Something must be done. We owe it to those who have served our country to take care of them afterward. Every cent counts, every life counts. Please find it in your hearts to donate what you can, whether services or products to the drawing, a monetary contribution to the charity, or simply tell a friend about the car show and show up in support. The effort or contribution doesn’t have to be about money. If you can’t spare change, please spread the word and come join us for a day of beautiful cars, fun, prizes, food, and great company! Come and enjoy yourself while you help us be a catalyst for a much-needed change! See you there!
JP’s Collision Center is well known for having the capacity to handle any car and truck that comes through their doors, but did you know that we can accommodate much, much more than that? From smaller-sized vehicles like Vespas, motorcycles, and quads, to oversized RVs and motorhomes; even the strange and oddly-shaped jobs like support equipment, trailers, and boats…we do it all! Our facility is quite large, and our 7 utility bays boast an average height of 16 feet and a length capacity of 48 feet long, making our building large enough to house just about any large or bulky rig.
Seriously, we’ve seen it all. Food trucks, ambulances, semis, boats, oversized RVs and toy haulers, horse and 5th wheel trailers, utility equipment, tow trucks, flatbed trucks, tractors, limousines, large passenger and utility vans, and pretty much anything else you can imagine. With an appetite for the weird and the unusual, we welcome even the trickiest and most complexly challenging undertakings. Bring it on! The possibilities are endless! Come and share your dream with us, and watch us make it a reality!
In regards to the upcoming Car Show on August 26th, if you or anyone you know is interested in donating prizes for the raffle, sponsoring the event, getting involved with the event itself, or registering a car for the show, hit us up! This is your chance to be a part of something really great, helping raise money for the Operation Zero- Veteran Suicide Prevention non-profit organization. Get your feel-good on and get involved today!
Imagine you’re driving the kids to school early on a Monday morning, still groggy from the long 3-day weekend before, when your lifeline of scalding coffee spills into your lap. You slap at it with a napkin, taking your eyes off the road just long enough to rear-end the car that has come to a stop in front of you. Your Monday morning has just gone from bad to worse. Accidents happen all the time, and whether or not you’re at fault, insurance companies are bound to be involved going forward.
What a majority of drivers don’t understand, and what the insurance companies don’t often tell you, is that you have the right to have your vehicle repaired at the repair shop of your choice. They may tell you to take it to a repair facility on their “preferred list”, which is an issue we want to address with you today. This is called “steering” and it is, in fact in violation of the law via the 1963 Federal Consent Decree. The reasoning behind why they attempt to do this in the first place varies in nature, but the fact still stands that it isn’t right and it could lead you to take your car to be repaired at a place that you don’t want to or that you didn’t choose.
Now, we aren’t trying to scare anybody with this information, we just believe that knowledge is power… and you should have that power. Know that the next time you are in an accident, the control is in your hands. You decide where you want your vehicle repaired, no one else! If you decide you’d like our shop to handle the repairs for you, we will do more than just that. We will deal with the insurance companies on your behalf, from start to finish, so that you don’t have to and can get back to living your life. Remember that you are the one who pays the insurance company, and so, therefore, they work for you, and it is you that is in control of the situation! Been in an accident and in need of repairs? Come visit JP and get an estimate to see if we are the right fit for you!
