We want this upcoming event to be as successful as possible, as well as keep everybody safe and comfortable while they enjoy themselves. That said, there are a couple of things that we feel we should communicate.
- We would like the orientation of the show cars to be concentrated in the parking lot area, and we ask that those cars not participating in the show be parked along 300 West, to avoid space issues.
- Shade is limited, if it exists at all, on the lot space so those that are participating in the show may want to bring some form of shade for themselves. We will have a couple of sunshade tents over the food and drawing tables, but we strongly encourage you to bring your own.
- Guests are welcome to bring coolers, chairs, and whatever else might be needed to be comfortable while at the event.
- We also highly recommend that all guests bring sunscreen, water, and consider wearing hats. Nobody likes heat stroke and sunburns!
We have several great prizes lined up for the drawing, and we thank all of those that have donated thus far from the bottom of our hearts! We will be accepting donations for the drawing up until the day before, so let us know if you’re interested in donating.

There’s nothing quite as satisfying as bringing a classic back to life. It’s like turning back the pages of history to breathe life into the past. It’s true that things just aren’t made like they used to be anymore, and it’s our responsibility to keep the past from disappearing altogether. This beautiful Mercury came to us in need of body repair and a fresh coat of paint. There were holes completely rusted through and body lines that wouldn’t line up correctly. The hood itself was actually sitting about 2 inches off, which was the culprit for the rest of the lines with the fenders not matching up. The car had no B pillar, making the top frame somewhat vulnerable to wear and the connecting points for the hard top had to be welded for reinforcement. We think that she turned out beautifully. What do you think?
Speaking of classic cars, we would like to once again remind you that our Car Show is coming up in just over a month. Want to see more beauties like this Mercury? Come on down and join us on August 26th for food, fun, and a raffle for prizes. We are still looking for a few great people or companies to donate their services or goods to the raffle, so if you’re interested, get in touch with us! I will be hunting down donors pretty seriously over the next few weeks, so let us know if you’d like to help. Thanks to those that have already stepped in to answer the call. We are getting close, so naturally, we are getting excited! The date for the Car Show is steadily creeping up on us like a ninja in the grass, and we want to be prepared to knock this year’s show out of the park! As we comb out the last-minute details, we need to get a head count for those attending in order to give us an idea of how many people will be there, as well as how much food we will need to serve. (No one likes an event that runs out of food! It could go from a Car Show to a hangry mob really quick… Not the outcome we are aiming for!) Another matter regarding the Car Show that we need to address are the vendors and businesses, maybe even private parties that would like to donate products or services to the event. We need to get an idea of what’s on the table at this point. This gives us an idea of what prizes and other services will be able to count on to make this event a success, as well as how much further we still have to go. If you or your company are interested in being a part of making this all come together, please send us a message or call us at (801) 266-7791 and let us know! Everything donated is going towards a charitable cause and is tax deductible. Keep that in mind.
We ask that you tag and share with anyone you think might be interested in attending or donating to the Car Show event. It could be anything from massages from an LMT to a free AC diagnostic check from a licensed HVAC company, donated for prizes to help entice a great turnout. Not only is this free advertisement, but the event itself gives you an opportunity to network and gain new clients. Make use of this opportunity, don’t waste it!
Lastly, we’d like to remind you what the reason for this event is all about. It’s about giving back to the community. It’s about great people coming together for an awesome cause, and it’s about helping to bring an end to Veteran suicide. This is an issue that is becoming more and more prevalent, and the men and women that wore those uniforms need our help. Things like PTSD, survivor’s guilt, and depression are very real enemies. They are the unseen enemies that sneak in like guerrilla combatants, slowly bringing our warriors to their knees. If only someone had their 6… well, here’s your chance!
Let’s come together to evoke change. Nothing is impossible with an army of supporters behind us. Happy 4th of July, everyone! I personally have so many fond memories of my dad and my brother duct taping fireworks together with bottle rockets (and subsequently setting the neighbor’s tree on fire). It was like a game of tag… almost…with fireworks. They’d light them and we’d dodge them. Somehow, we survived. Ahhhh, those were the days! BBQs, sunburns, lawn chairs, us kids running amok with excitement, and the sweet smell of gunpowder mixed with freedom! I can almost see a majestic bald eagle right now, swooping down to snatch a hot dog off the grill, all while screeching “FREEDOM!” Ok, ok… maybe that’s a bit far-fetched. Regardless, we at JP’s Collision Center want to wish you all a very happy and safe 4th as you celebrate the birth of our great Nation in the company of family and friends. Let us not forget the price that was paid, our history, nor our military and veteran members and their families on this day. We enjoy the freedoms we do today because of those that have paved the way and made it possible. Be safe, don’t drink and drive, and let freedom ring!
We thought you’d also enjoy this last project that was just completed, and we wanted to share it with everyone. At JP’s, we love interesting projects and this recent food truck makeover turned out to be one of our all-time favorites! The client came in with a dream and a vision and we did our best to help it come to life. The original truck was in pretty good shape, very little bodywork was necessary. What was needed was a makeover, changing it from its original lime green color into exactly what that the client had envisioned. The job was a complete repaint order, and man was it fun! We live for commissions like these where we can watch an idea that someone has turned into a reality through creative collaboration. With your dreams and preferences and our skilled professionals, we have a winning combination!
